Beef Fat

Looking to render your own tallow or suet? We offer bags of raw fat for you to render yourself. 

The terms suet and tallow can sometimes be confusing. This is how we understand them and use them:

Suet is the raw, hard, internal fat of a beef animal. It is prized for making soap or for feeding to birds due to it's hardness. There is only a small quantity of suet from one animal.

Trim Fat - this is the raw fat that is trimmed from a beef animal. Once rendered this is known as tallow. From clean, grassfed animals this is an amazing fat to add to your diet. The amount of beef fat that is available on one animal varies with the condition it is in at slaughter but typically our cattle have a good amount of finish so we typically have much more trim fat available than suet.

Note: We ask for our butcher to keep seperate the suet from the trim fat and thus sell bags of fat based on that. We cannot guarantee that the bags of suet will not contain any trim fat.
